  If you have lost an animal, this is probably the first place to call. Located next to the Humane Society education and adoption center at 16 Forever Friend Lane, Asheville, NC (828) 250-6430 stray animals that are picked up by Animal Control will end up here.
  

• ASPCA Pet Poison Control

  (888) 426-4435. If you think your animal has eaten something poisonous and we are not available, call one of the Emergency Hospitals (listed in our links) or call this number directly. The ASPCA poison center does have a $65 consultation fee, but it is often well worth it!

• Upstate Veterinary Specialists

  We often refer to Upstate Vet. for specialist consultations. Located just across the road from Meridian Animal Hospital at 22 Fall Pippin Lane #102, Asheville, NC (828) 210-8285 they provide a rotating group of specialists to whom we can refer you.
  

• Pisgah Pet Care

  This is Dr. Julie McCormick's prectice in Bravard. Dr. McCormick operates Davidson River Ultrasound Services, a mobile ultrasonography unit. If we schedule your pet for an ultrasound at our hospital Dr. McCorminck will likely perform it.
  

• Chain Free Asheville

  Chain Free Asheville is an organization we have worked with extensively and respect enormously. With the goal of getting dogs off chains throughout Buncombe County, ChainFree Asheville is not just an advocate for animal rights, but provides tangible help in the form of building fences.
  

• Hopkins Belize Humane Society

  This small humane society provides low cost or free spay and neuter services, medicine, and flea and tick preventatives in Hopkins and surrounding towns. Dr. Sinclair (and Bob) spent a week at Hopkins in the fall of 2014 doing spays and neuters and some emergency surgeries.
  

• Saga Humane Society

  Located in San Pedro, on Ambergris Caye, Belize, this nonprofit organization does a terrific job providing low to no cost spays and neuters as well as rescue resources for the local population. Dr. Sinclair has done some pro bono work at Saga, and has additionally rescued or assisted in the rescue of several animals from San Pedro.
  

• Buckeye Kennels

  Marie Steele is who we trust with our own animals when we travel. A++ boarding kennel in East Asheville.

  Dr. Scott Lewis at Mountain Equine is a talented equine veterinarian who cares for everything from performance horses to ponies!
  

• North Mecklenburg Animal Rescue

  Small rescue focusing on adult dogs and difficult to place breeds.
